Educational Orientation for New Students at Nepal Engineering College

Kathmandu. Nepal Engineering College, located in Changunarayan, Bhaktapur, organized an educational orientation program to welcome newly enrolled students for the new academic session. The program, held on Monday at the college auditorium, provided detailed information to the newly admitted undergraduate engineering students regarding the college’s academic environment, physical infrastructure, and curriculum.

During the orientation program, College Principal Er. Durga Prasad Bhandari, Assistant Principal Er. Mohan Dhoj KC, College Management Committee Member Prof. Sabitri Tripathi, Administrative Chief Shrima Sharma, and Examination Committee Coordinator Samjhana Shrestha, among others, welcomed the new students. They highlighted the importance of engineering education, the college’s contribution to producing skilled human resources, and provided insights into the curriculum and career opportunities.

The program, coordinated by Bishnu Prasad Bhandari, Head of the Student Welfare and Extra-Curricular Activities Department, also included remarks from newly admitted students who shared their reasons for choosing Nepal Engineering College and their perspectives on the importance of studying engineering.

According to the college, around 85% of the undergraduate seats for the new academic session have already been filled. However, students interested in pursuing engineering studies can still apply, as limited seats remain available. The college offers undergraduate programs in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Civil and Rural Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, and B.E. for Diploma Holders.

Affiliated with Pokhara University, the college has been granted permanent approval by the Nepal Engineering Council after thorough evaluation of its academic, administrative, physical, and research aspects. As a non-profit social academic institution, Nepal Engineering College has been increasingly attracting students. Upholding its commitment to quality education, the college provides scholarships worth approximately NRs. 150 million each year to ensure accessibility of engineering education for all.
