Nepal Eco Panel Chess for All Tournament Draws Strong National Participation

Kathmandu, Feb 17, 2026 — Nepal Eco Panel proudly announces that its upcoming “Nepal Eco Panel Chess for All – FIDE Rapid Rating Below 1700 Chess Tournament” has received an enthusiastic response from chess players across the country. As of this morning, 135 players from all over Nepal, including two participants from India, have officially registered for the event. The tournament is being organized under the regulations of FIDE with Event Code No. 466948 and is scheduled to take place on Falgun 06–07, 2082 (Feb. 18–19, 2026) at Thapathali Park Chess Club, Kathmandu-11. This tournament is being conducted in coordination with the national chess community including support from Nepal Chess Federation, with the aim of promoting inclusive participation and encouraging emerging players rated below 1700. Speaking about the event, the organizing team of Nepal Eco Panel shared: “Our vision is to make chess accessible to everyone while promoting eco-conscious values through sports. The overwhelming registration shows the growing interest in chess among youth and enthusiasts across Nepal.” Players from different districts, schools, colleges, and clubs are expected to compete, making it one of the most diverse rapid-rating tournaments in recent times. The participation of international players from India further highlights the event’s growing regional recognition. Nepal Eco Panel extends its heartfelt thanks to all supporting organizations, players, and volunteers, and welcomes more chess lovers to witness exciting matches over the two-day event.
