A seven-day youth leadership development training program titled "Kartavyapath" has been officially launched at the Southwestern School of Management and Technology in Basundhara, Kathmandu. The training aims to prepare students to become responsible and capable future leaders by focusing on moral values, a sense of duty, and national pride.
The training is jointly organized by the Southwestern School of Management and Technology, University of Three Generations, and Eagle Think Tank. A total of 40 undergraduate students from Southwestern School of Management and Technology and SS College are participating in this program.
Conducted under the main slogan "Empowering Students for Ethics and Nationality", this training seeks to re-establish a sense of duty, discipline, and purpose among youth—especially in the current context where the tendency to leave the country is rising and younger generations are drifting away from national values.
Students are being trained in leadership, ethics, physical fitness, mental resilience, and dedication to the nation. The goal is to empower them to contribute in fields such as national security, public service, diplomacy, and international peacekeeping.
The training is designed and conceptualized by Brigadier General Ramchandra Khatry (Retd.), managing director of Eagle Think Tank, author of CADET CAPSULE and a former military diplomat. It includes four key modules:
Security Awareness – Basic knowledge about Nepal's security structure, physical fitness, and personal discipline.
Human Resources and Ethical Leadership – Group work, civic duties, and value-based leadership development.
Diplomacy and UN Peacekeeping – Skills in international etiquette, cultural dialogue, and peacekeeping.
Adventure, Life-saving, and Resilience – Outdoor activities focusing on mental toughness, problem-solving, and survival skills.
Security experts, former diplomats, professors, and ex-UN peacekeeping trainers are voluntarily facilitating the sessions.
Dr. Rajendra KC, Campus Chief of Southwestern State College, emphasized the importance of the training, saying:
“Providing education based on ethics and national pride to our youth is the need of the hour. This training helps in building responsible citizens.”
Engineer Deepak Bahadur Dhami, Campus Chief of Southwestern School of Management and Technology, stated:
“Kartavyapath is not just a training; it’s a mission to build the future. I hope such programs will be regularly conducted in other colleges as well.”
To offer practical experience, a Security Study Tour is also included in the training. The tour sites will include:
Nepal Army Training Center, Kharipati, Bhaktapur (planned)
Garud Security Pvt. Ltd., Maharajgunj, Kathmandu
Ultimate Venue Nepal, Kapan, Kathmandu
Through this, students will gain direct insights into Nepal’s national security and leadership systems.
The training is completely free of cost. Trainers are volunteering their time, and study materials are provided free of charge, ensuring equal opportunities for students regardless of financial background.
At the end of the training, an "Eagle Eye Online Quiz Contest" will be held, with prizes awarded to the top three participants. Participants are also being given free copies of the books “Samanya Gyan Kunj” by Mitra Ghimire and “Current Affairs Capsule” by Brigadier General Ramchandra Khatry (Retd.), courtesy of Vidya Bikash Publications.
The organizing institutions have urged local governments, municipalities, and educational bodies to integrate such youth empowerment training into their regular academic programs.
“True national progress begins with responsible youth. Kartavyapath is not just a training program—it’s a journey of ethics, self-confidence, and patriotism,” said the organizing team, inviting all educational institutions and communities to collaborate and participate in this national campaign.
