Campaign to make Lalitpur a child marriage free district started

Lalitpur. A campaign has been started to make Lalitpur district a child marriage free district. Accordingly, an interaction program was held on Friday in Siddipur of Lalitpur on the topic of 'My contribution to building a country free from child marriage'. On the occasion of 112th Women's Day, the program was organized jointly by Siddipur Community Learning Center (CLC) and Shanti Shiksha Abhiyan Nepal Lalitpur.
Kalpana Maharjan, an activist and the first woman journalist who succeeded in climbing Mount Everest from Southern Mohada, said that the program was started as part of the campaign to make Lalitpur district a child marriage-free district within five years. She said that the program has been held in schools before, and from now on, in collaboration with municipalities, wards, women's groups, community learning centers (CLCs), etc., she plans to move forward by holding interactive programs in different places of the district every month.
"Within three years, we are on a campaign to make the district a child marriage-free district within five years by declaring a designated child marriage-free zone," Maharjan, the activist, told the program. According to this, the first program was held in Siddipur, she said.
In the program, the contribution that each district can make in declaring child marriage free districts was discussed. Stakeholders from that area participated in the program.
