Two teams to represent nec at Mumbai and Islamabad Regional Summit

Hult Prize at Nepal Engineering College, the quarter-final round of the prestigious Hult Prize where students pitch their social enterprise ideas to well-established and renowned entrepreneurs and move one step ahead towards receiving the seed money of 1,000,000 US dollars, got its winner and runner-up teams from its OnCampus program where Team Shishi:, Team DRUC_Squad and Team PS3 were the place-holders respectively. Team Shishi:, the winning team, automatically advanced to the next round as a competitor in the Mumbai Regional Summit, and Team PS3 advanced as a wild-card entry for the Islamabad Regional Summit.

The teams have been selected to represent nec at one of the 15 regional summits happening around the world, among only about 5% of the Hult Prize 2022 Call to Action applicants that made it to the Regionals. The teams’ pitch for how to “get the world back to work” stood out, giving them the chance to advance to compete against teams from universities all around the world.

The winners of the Regional Summits will have the chance to participate in the Global Accelerator - an intensive 6-week hybrid program hosted virtually from June 20th to July 8th and held in Boston from July 25th to August 12th. Six teams will be selected to move on to the New York finals for a chance to pitch for the US$ 1,000,000 prize. The 2022 Global Finals will be held at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting, with President Bill Clinton presenting theaward and announcing the Hult Prize 2022 Winner.
