Department of Architecture instigated Web Lecture Series

Department of Architecture with collective effort from all the faculties instigated Web Lecture Series during the pandemic COVID-19. The main aim of the series was to coin the pandemic time by enhancing the horizon of knowledge in students with the help of experts from the education andthe pragmatic field.
The series was initiated with three different lectures from national and international experts in the field of education, production and marketing. The first lecture was conducted on 28th June 2020, Sunday. The topic wason “Conceptualization in the Design Process” presented by Dr. Adrian Lo, an academia from Brisbane. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Hari Krishna Shrestha, nec. There was invaluable presence of the academic coordinator Asst. Prof. Mohan Dhoj K.C., Department Head of Architecture Assoc. Prof. NhasalaSayami and all the respected faculties from the department. Participation of enthusiastic students with keen interest and active interaction made the lecture successful.
Successive Web Lecture was conducted thereafter on 11th July 2020, Saturday. The topic of the lecture was “Use of White Cement in Building Construction” presentedby professional experts from JK Cement Pvt. Ltd.namely Er.Rameshwor Singh, the Zonal head from Patna andEr. Ram Sharan Shrestha, Senior Technical Executive from Nepal.
Following the same, third web lecture continued on 25th July 2020, Saturday. The topic of the lecturewas“Public Spaces in Kathmandu’s Residential Neighborhoods: Then and Now” presentedby educator and researcher Dr. Rajjan Man Chitrakarfrom Melbourne, Australia.
We feel the series of this kind wasknowledgeable and productive toall the participants. Department of Architecture,nec is highly obliged towards all the experts from their respective fields for their noble involvement and their valuable time.Keen interest andpositive responsewith active participation from the students has highly motivated the department to carry out further web lecture series in days to come.
