Build or Broken’ Book Launched in Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur: An English-language book titled ‘Build or Broken’, carrying a message of leadership and management amid chaos, has been launched in Bhaktapur.

The book, which focuses on leadership, discipline, management and organizational development, was unveiled at a programme held in Bhaktapur on Sunday. The author and leadership trainer, Dennis J. Cummins, launched the book himself.

The book primarily explores how effective leadership can be established even in situations marked by chaos and complexity. Its central message is that leadership does not begin after chaos ends; rather, it begins in the midst of chaotic circumstances.

According to the book, every leader faces two choices—to build with discipline or to become weakened by disorder. It emphasizes the need for leadership capable of creating clarity, setting the right priorities and generating long-term impact even amid complexity and challenges.

The book also highlights that chaos should not be viewed as an enemy that stops leaders, but as a responsibility that must be understood and managed. It stresses the importance of building strong systems and structures for clarity and long-term strength.

Similarly, the book discusses the difference between leadership that merely appears influential and leadership that creates a lasting impact. It provides practical guidance on the discipline required to manage oneself, lead others and build a long-term legacy.

Author Cummins is the founder and president of a non-profit organization. According to the book, the organization is actively involved in rescue, education and the empowerment of girls and young women in Nepal. He has also been engaged in leadership development and training.

The book conveys the message that leadership should not merely be a means of exerting influence, but should be based on truth, discipline, strong systems and responsibility. At its core, ‘Build or Broken’ presents the idea of leadership that is built on truth—and can either be strengthened through discipline or broken by disorder.
