KATHMANDU, Sept 15, 2026: Emmanuel Rouhaud, a 53-year-old physical education teacher from France, is set to arrive in Kathmandu on September 19 after travelling to Nepal by bicycle. He will visit Herve Life Nepal Foundation (HLNF), a non-profit organization supporting children’s education, on September 21.
Rouhaud works as a physical education teacher and is also a trainer in human relations and team management. A passionate sportsman, mountain enthusiast, cyclist and hiker, he has chosen his bicycle journey to Nepal as both a personal challenge and a way to connect with people and support a cause he believes in.
He became interested in HLNF after learning about its work, purpose, projects and commitment to supporting children’s education. Impressed by the organization’s approach and the difference its work can make in children’s lives, he decided to contribute to its efforts.
With support from his school in France, Rouhaud has collected funds that he plans to bring to Kathmandu to support HLNF’s work and the children it assists. He has also purchased small gifts for the children and plans to hand them over during his visit to the foundation.
Rouhaud is also involved with “Eduquer Pour La Paix” (Educate for Peace), an association that raises funds to help young people from the Vendée region of France work together on projects related to education, charity and solidarity.
The association promotes the belief that education is a major factor in building peace between people and nations. It also emphasizes cooperation and teamwork as important ways to create a better future and challenge prejudice.
His visit to HLNF is expected to provide an opportunity for cultural exchange and stronger links between people working for education and social support in France and Nepal. His contribution will also add a personal dimension to international solidarity, as he brings both financial support and gifts for the children.
HLNF is preparing to welcome Rouhaud on September 21. The foundation says his interest in its work and his effort to travel such a long distance by bicycle reflect a meaningful commitment to education, cooperation and solidarity.
